When deploying web applications, the multitude of visitors will become a concern. This happens because not all the site users will speak the same language as you do, and as such some could be deprived of information. The solution to avoid this is to allow visitors choose the language they want to use and display at least the critical information in that language.
MX Kollection 3 can help with this, as most error messages and some of the standard button labels have been translated into several languages. You can change the current site language from the InterAKT Control Panel.
What you cannot do with the standard pack of MX Kollection 3 is have more than one language available for your site visitors at one time. Fortunately, it only takes a few minutes to change this, as you will see in what follows.
In order to complete this 'how to' tutorial, you should have MX Kollection 3 installed and a properly set up Dreamweaver site and database connection (the choice of database table is up to you).
For this tutorial, create the following two pages:
The site index which will allow the visitor choose the language from a drop-down menu.
The list page will contain
a NeXTensio list, where the language change
is easily noticed. The list that will be displayed in this tutorial is
based on the table of companies from the Contact
Management Application tutorial.
To learn how to create a NeXTensio list,
read an example here and then create
a list in this page of your site.
