Build Advanced Recordsets from Dreamweaver

From this section, you will learn how to open the MX Query Builder interface from Dreamweaver and how the two products work together.

MX Query Builder is an intelligent and user-friendly alternative to the Dreamweaver advanced recordset, in that the SQL code can be generated from a visual interface rather than hand-coded. The purpose of MX Query Builder is to help you define recordsets that you can use in your site pages as any other data source.

On the right side of the Dreamweaver recordset window, there is a QuB3 button from which you can reach the MX Query Builder interface. As we mentioned before, MX Query Builder will be sometimes referred as QuB in this user manual.

In the next topic, the exact steps involved in opening the interface will be described.

Note: In order for MX Query Builder to open, you must have pop-up blocking disabled on your browser. MX Query Builder opens in a web browser and can sometimes be prevented from opening when pop-up blocking software is installed and activated. For details, see Pop-up blocker conflicts.
